Bitesize InsurTech: Slipcase
September 12, 2020
Slipcase is a content distribution platform for the global commercial and specialty (re)insurance industry.
The re/insurance industry is wide-ranging and diverse. Keeping up with views, updates, and market events relevant to a specific area can be a challenge. This problem is compounded by the number of content producers out there, finding valuable information and expertise (even within an organisation) is not easy.
Slipcase presents a solution. Its platform helps deliver relevant insights and thought leadership to users within the global commercial and specialty (re)insurance industry. The solution uses data-driven curation to match content to professionals most likely to find the information useful.
Individuals can access Slipcase for free through their website or app, allowing publishing organisations to gain exposure and communicate their brand and expertise to focused audiences at scale.
Our readers may remember our previous Bitesize on Slipcase. We recently caught up with Alex Hearn, CEO to learn about some of their recent developments.
After a productive first half of the year for tech development, Slipcase has a new ‘secret sauce’: the InsurTech can help institutions disseminate siloed knowledge and manage internal (and external) insights. With its new API capabilities, Slipcase can collect, organise, and deliver content through an organisation’s internal systems (e.g. intranets, trading platforms).
Get market insights straight to your inbox
At the same time, Slipcase has also been expanding its data capabilities. User insights can be played back to partners in the form of dashboards or reports, but Slipcase goes one step further. It is building the capacity to power its content curation aspect and distribute bespoke newsletters according to a subscriber’s industry focus, role, level of seniority, among other factors.
Ultimately, this has widened the user-side proposition, while strengthening the platform value for content publishers. Organisations can even subscribe their employees to white-labelled newsletters where management give a content specification and Slipcase does the rest! The company can already boast of Marsh and Willis Towers Watson as clients using these new capabilities, as well as a steady pipeline of future partnerships.
The Oxbow Partners view
Slipcase is an ideal solution for individuals wanting to stay up to date with the latest industry news & insights. Many of us at Oxbow Partners are in fact subscribers to their newsletter, and Slipcase has proven especially useful during the past few months as we have witnessed such unprecedented industry events unfold.
However, the InsurTech’s recent developments really excite us, as it continues to develop its proposition to support both internal and external information distribution. We think Slipcase is a strong candidate for partnerships across the insurance value chain.
