Set up Digital Partners for Munich Re

In 2015 we were asked by Munich Re to evaluate how they could play the InsurTech trend. We supported the team to set up Digital Partners, which grew to over $500m of premium over the next five years.

Developed an InsurTech partnering approach

Our client was a top-tier reinsurer. We worked with the executive team to develop an operating model that enabled them to scale their InsurTech partnerships globally across the business.

Selected an InsurTech provider to support digital distribution

Our client is a leading Lloyd’s syndicate. Leveraging Magellan, we helped shortlist and select an InsurTech partner to support the client’s digital distribution business. The partnership is now live and trading over £150m GWP annually.

Supported Mercia on diligence of Broker Insights

Mercia Asset Management, a venture investor, asked us to evaluate Broker Insights, a next-generation insurance marketplace, for an investment. We helped them understand the business model, potential addressable market and path to scale.

Supported diligence of an APAC embedded insurance provider

Our client was an insurance investor who wanted to conduct a review of portfolio assets. We supported with an evaluation of the embedded warranty market in cross-border ecommerce and provided an opinion on the company’s ability to execute its plan.

Supported diligence of a UK retail financial services platform

Our client is an acquisitive corporate. We were engaged to understand the business model of a fast-growing early-stage platform and its ability to be both a commercial partner to the investor and an attractive equity investment.
